Independent but very closely hand in hand with cooperative Trsnica is working a Selection for growing grapevines in Vrhpolje. This section takes care of growing antivirus cloning plan material. Common work of Trsnica and Ministry for Agriculture gives many results - in village Lože in Vipava is a collecting wineyard with 52 different sorts of vines. The biggest attention at the production of grapevines is orientated in the origin material. The basis and grapevines have to be first-class. To reach this goal we practise in our vineyards over the whole Vipavska valley, Goriska Brda, Kras and in the town Koper a mass-selection during a period of five years, which is a starting-point for clon-selection. We are very proud of our clons of Rebula, Zelen and Pinel. On the first place are american high-quality bases. Our vinegrowers have planted antivirus clon-selection and their grapevines are growing on million different bases, which are adaptable to our climate. Our clon-selection, which are produced from our vinegrowers, are: SO4 clon Binova, SO4 clon 31, SO4 clon 15, Kober 5BB, clon G 13, Paulsen 1103 clon 113, 420 A clon 10 and 3309. So prepared and kept grapevine grafts will stay till the plantation in full condition.
